Delaware has about 210,000 residents under 18. We hold one standing statewide seat on a state policymaking board, it is non-voting, and it covers education only. We are asking the General Assembly to create the Delaware Youth Council: 15 high school students, five from each county, with an annual report the legislature must hear and answer in writing.

Sponsor meetings in all three counties. We hold formal asks until after the November election, we are looking for sponsors in both parties, and we bring each office the number of students from their county who applied.
General Assembly convenes
The 154th General Assembly convenes for the first of its two years.
Bill introduced
The bill is introduced. The pilot council runs its statewide survey and listening sessions.
Committee hearing
Committee hearing with testimony from all three counties. Pilot findings released.
First leg ends
The first of the General Assembly's two years ends. This is the target for passage.
A bill that does not pass by June 30, 2027 stays alive into the 2028 session. We are aiming for 2027.
