Who we are
Delaware Youth Council is a campaign run by one person, Rafael Farrera-Juarez. It has no staff, no office, and no legal entity yet. When this page says "we", it means him.
When you add your name
The sign-up form on the Take action page asks for:
- Your first and last name, so the count is made of real people.
- Your email address, so we can count each person once, and so we can email you if you checked the updates box. If you didn't check it, we don't email you.
- Your ZIP code and county, so we can group supporters by county. The numbers on the home page come from this. Names never appear on the site.
- Your role (student, parent, educator, community member, or other), so we can tell legislators who supports this.
- Whether you want campaign updates. This box is unchecked unless you check it.
- Confirmation that you're 13 or older.
That's all. We don't ask for your phone number, and we don't ask for your street address here.
When you email your legislators
The letter step asks for your street address. It goes into the letter's signature, because legislative offices check that mail comes from constituents. We don't store it anywhere.
When you tap "Open in my email app", we record the time and your county so we can count letters. We don't record your name, your address, or what the letter says. The letter goes out from your own email account, not through us.
On the send step there is a box that says "Send a copy of my letter to the campaign." It's unchecked unless you check it. If you check it, your letter is also sent to the campaign's email address as a blind copy. We read copies to understand what supporters are saying. Sending us a copy is not permission to publish it. We won't quote your letter anywhere without asking you first and getting a yes.
When you apply
Applications for the pilot council and for research fellows are collected through Google Forms and stored in the campaign's Google account. Google is a separate company, and its own privacy terms apply to the form itself.
If you're under 18, the form asks for a parent or guardian's name, email, and typed signature. We contact that parent or guardian only if you are selected. We do not check that the signature is real.
If we don't select you, we delete your application within 30 days after decisions go out on November 7, 2026. If we do select you, we keep it while you serve and delete it afterward.
If you use the "Tell me when applications open" field, we store your email, which track you asked about, and the date. We use that list to send one message when applications open, and we delete it when applications close.
Where your information lives and who can see it
Everything this website collects goes into a spreadsheet in a Google account the campaign controls. Google's terms apply to that account too.
One person can see the spreadsheet: the founder. If more people get access, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
What we never do
We never sell, trade, or rent your information. We don't share it with other organizations. When we talk to legislators, we show them counts by county, not names.
Analytics
We plan to use GoatCounter to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It uses no cookies and collects nothing that identifies you. As of the date at the top of this page, it is not turned on yet.
Age
You must be 13 or older to add your name or leave your email. The form won't accept a sign-up without that box checked, and nothing is saved when it's refused. If you're under 13 and want to help, ask a parent or guardian to add their name.
If we learn we've collected information from someone under 13, we delete it.
Deleting your information
Email [email protected] from the address you used and say what you want deleted. We'll reply within seven days and delete it within 14 days. Deleting your sign-up removes you from the county count. You can also ask what we hold about you, and we'll tell you.
